Imagine my surprise when it was not only imaginative and void of the usual genre cliches but also very well-written - actual character insights, instead of hyperbolic melodrama; dialogue that could actually happen; and just enough description to make the settings alive but not intrusive. He kept me guessing (doesn't happen often!) and caring what happened next. This was a new author for me (under any of his pseudonyms) and I hope his other books are this engaging.

 The authors know the form very well and satisfy the reader completely. The only fault I can find with the book is that it ended! I wanted more of these characters!
