This is a slim volume to bind together the two books More Than a Mistress and No Man's Mistress, which are to be republished together in May, 2011, with the new prequel, The Secret Mistress, which is to be published in hardcover in the middle of July.

It will be available only as an ebook at first (for Kindle, Nook, Kobo, Sony, Apple, etc.), though it will appear in print at the back of the mass market edition of The Secret Mistress next year, in 2012.

Now a Bride is not a complete story in itself. Rather, it expands on the first two books with a few added episodes and then offers a series epilogue that brings all three books and sets of characters together one more time at the end.

In More Than a Mistress, there is an incomplete marriage proposal scene between Tresham and Jane and no wedding scene. Many readers do not like this. Those scenes appear in Now a Bride. There is also a homecoming scene at the end since Tresham avoided his home for years before his marriage to Jane but is looking forward to going back there afterward.

In No Man's Mistress, the wedding scene between Ferdinand and Viola is also missing as well as the final homecoming scene, important because much of their story is taken up with their fight over the home they both claim to own. Now a Bride supplies both scenes.

When a series ends, readers often feel a little bereft, somewhat left behind. I often get asked what happened to the characters after the end of the series, whether they continued happy, how many children they had. Scenes in which the characters are all shown living happily ever after can be a bit cheesy, but they can also be satisfying for readers who have been involved with them through several books. There is such a scene at the end of Now a Bride, which brings together Tresham and Jane, Ferdinand and Viola, Heyward and Angeline, and all their children, who are identified by gender and name!

I hope the volume will be emotionally satisfying to readers who have enjoyed the Mistress series.
